College and babies

Becoming pregnant at a young age is a scary idea for a young lady. Especially while still in High School when you are taught by society that getting pregnant in high school is awful. A lot of women that I knew in High School became pregnant and still graduated, but then started looking for careers that didn't require college degrees. I often wondered if the reason they did not pursue a degree right away had to do with money or the fact that they were told throughout their teenage years that they would not amount to anything if they became a teenage parent, or that it was just a wrong thing to let happen at a young age. However I know one woman who had a child their second semester and have full intentions of finishing their degree. There is another woman who had a baby the summer after she graduated high school and went straight into college she is now looking forward to starting her junior year this next fall semester. I also know a woman who took a year of after having a baby after she graduated and she will be starting her first semester of college this fall. These women are pursuing their dreams despite being told the odds are stacked against them by society.
