"I wish I looked like her!"

I hang out with my suitemates the majority of the day everyday. One day while looking through a magazine one of my suitemates said, "Ugh I need to lose weight! Why can't I look like her?!" It occurred to me that society tells us what we SHOULD look like and how this has affected women to do drastic things to their body to achieve the body image as so society wants. Through this information many have even brought this to the attention of society, and despite the facts and awareness we STILL see the trend of society, woman's body image, and the deterioration of health correlating.  I've seen many girls and women struggle with food disorders just to get thinner. On social media especially we see that women "should" have flat tummies, large breasts, tan, big butts, and to be curvy. The models in magazine and whatnot are thin, and we barely if not at all see any women with anymore variety than that. So it makes me think what society will tells us in the future. Are woman and even men going to do even crazier things to achieve societies view of "perfection", or will we see more independent thinking, individuality, and self-loving?
