Generation to Generation Social Media

Are you actually living if you don’t have social media accounts? In today’s society one wouldn’t know if you were. Social media is the only way people stay connected anymore.  Hypothetically, the average person does not know what verbal communication is; that is if you were raised in the present technological era. The way our generation communicates is much different than the way our grandparents communicate.  We would rather shoot an email, send a text, or Face Time someone whereas the older generation prefers face-to-face or long conversations over the phone. Now, I’m not saying this is true in all aspects of society, but for the most part it is. One rarely sees a teenager or young adult without his or her phone, and the topic of most conversation is how many likes a picture got or how many new followers someone has.  But as for the older generation, I’m not saying all do, but most despise technology and all the surrounding aspects that pertain to it.
